Great Colorado Events to Enjoy this Winter!


You’re in Colorado, it’s winter and it’s beautiful. There’s only one problem…you don’t ski.
Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of fun to be had! Why not enjoy the great winter festivals, carnivals and other events that Colorado has to offer? Here are some of the best events happening in our area this winter.

Feb. 7-11
Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival

Help Steamboat Springs commemorate 105 years of the “oldest, continuous Winter Carnival west of the Mississippi.”


Feb. 9-18
Cripple Creek Ice Festival

From a slide and maze built out of ice to breathtaking ice sculptures, the 11th Cripple Creek Ice Festival is sure to have something for the entire family.


Feb. 10
Lake City Ice Climbing Festival

Lake City’s famed Ice Park plays host to Top-roped and Lead speed climbing events with Men’s and Women’s categories, prizes and an award ceremony. The entry fee is $30.


Mar. 9-11
Frozen Dead Guy Days

Enjoy live music, great food and an extensive array of quirky contests and competitions as part of this epic celebration honoring Bredo Morstol, Nederland’s resident frozen dead guy!


Mar. 3-4
The 70th Leadville Ski Jorin

This year marks the 70th running of this time-honored competition in which “a horse and rider pull a skier at a fast pace through a course that has gates, jumps and rings. The skier is timed through the course, and penalties are assessed by missing gates or jumps, and by missing or dropping the baton or any of the rings.”
